DESCRIPTION

Help reduce the ecological impact of invasive species on the Great Lakes by eating them! Become an invasivore - try a salty fried sea lamprey dog, sauteed Asian carp (copi) or zebra moules-frites at the newly opened Invasivore’s Cafe at Navy Pier.  The Cafe’s conservationist chefs work wonders, creating delicacies from species threatening to overwhelm the ecosystem. Other favorites include pasta with garlic mustard pesto (an invasive herb native to Europe and Asia) and roast nutria, (a large semi-aquatic rodent introduced for fur trading).
