Future Climate Souvenirs is a platform for creating engaging and inventive artifacts that provoke awareness and discussion of the climate crisis through humor and speculation rather than doomsday scenarios.
In this edition Chicagoans imagine how they might adapt their infrastructure and create new nature reserves, regenerative schemes and eco-tourist sites in response to predicted atmospheric changes and ecological impacts.
This website was created on the occasion of the 6th Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB) entitled Shift: Architecture in Times of Radical Change in September 2025 to accompany a kiosk and performance lecture vehicle that displays speculative souvenirs and interactive educational materials.
Parsons & Charlesworth is a visual arts and design studio founded in 2014 by Jessica Charlesworth & Tim Parsons. They create provocative objects, installations and digital media that invite viewers into meticulously crafted and designed alternate realities. Their studio operates as an artistic laboratory where speculative scenarios take physical form, challenging viewers to reconsider their relationship with technology and ecology.
They have shown work internationally including at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Design Museum London, Walker Art Center (Minneapolis), Philadelphia Museum of Art, MAAT Lisbon, Science Gallery Dublin, Science Gallery Monterrey, Istanbul Design Biennial, Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), MAK - Museum of Applied Arts(Vienna), and Chicago Cultural Center.
